Helix Elementary wrapped up the year with a joyful Purposeful People Awards Assembly! Students participated in fun challenges and were recognized for their dedication to demonstrating strong character traits throughout the year. We’re incredibly proud of our little Grizzlies for their hard work and growth—what an amazing way to celebrate a fantastic school year!

A BIG THANK YOU to the Helix community, staff, students and our middle school staff for making our Middle School Carnival last evening such a success!! Our elementary students had a blast winning prizes at each of the games. Parents were able to spend time viewing the elementary Lego projects. A special thank you to all our parent and community sponsors! The Carnival raised about $1800 for our middle school ASB account. Thank you so much for making the Helix School District such a wonderful place!
Good afternoon and happy Thursday! Teachers will be completing parent-teacher conferences tomorrow morning, so Helix Schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, April 4th. Good afternoon middle school Parents/Guardians: Reminder that tomorrow, Wednesday, April 2nd, Helix middle school students will be departing at 7:30 a.m. for the Tri-County Music Festival in Pilot Rock. If your student is being picked up in Pendleton, the bus will arrive at 8:00 a.m. at Red Lion and depart at 8:15 a.m.

This afternoon our elementary celebrated at their Purposeful People Awards Assembly! Students received awards for working hard on our character traits, perseverance and honesty! Way to go Grizzlies! We also practiced perseverance during a challenging minute-to-win-it competition! Congratulations to the 3rd grade class for winning the VICTORY chant class challenge! Good afternoon - The home basketball games with Pilot Rock will start today at 4 p.m. Boys' JV will play a half-game followed by Varsity Girls and then Varsity Boys. The Homecoming Court will be announced this evening, and the elementary cheer group will perform during half-time. Participation in elementary cheer is optional. Good morning- The Helix School District will be dismiss early today at 12:25 p.m., Thursday, 2/13/2025 due to inclement weather. All afternoon and evening activities are canceled. If your student rides a bus and you are not able to pick them up at the earlier time, please contact the school before 12:15 p.m. and other arrangements can be made. Thank you!
Helix Parents/Guardians - Carson Propane was on-site this afternoon and checked all our tanks and fittings. They did not find a leak, but the technician believes the release valve may have frozen open for a short period of time on one of the tanks which released a small amount of propane after today's fill up. I double checked the tanks and found no odor of propane. If weather permits, I expect students will be on the playground tomorrow. Thank you!
Helix Parents/Guardians - This afternoon shortly after noon a staff member smelled propane on our elementary play area. Carson Propane recently filled the propane tanks located in the play area. Out of caution, students have been brought inside to the gym for the remainder of lunch recess. Carson is responding and will let us know when it is safe to re-enter the play area. Congratulations to Helix FBLA who competed at the Blue Mountain Region Skills Competition today at EOU. The Grizzlies came away with 25 top ten finishes and qualified 16 students for the State Business Leadership Conference.
